13 May Why Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is Considered Obese
Did you know that according to national standards Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is considered obese – having a body mass index (BMI) of 34.3 kg/m2? BMI is a common measurement of your weight distribution compared to your height and is often used as a key metric in outcomes-based wellness programs.
Bravo’s best practice is to conduct a waist measurement in addition to height and weight. This secondary measure is used to automatically correct an elevated BMI result that is due to lean muscle mass. If a participant’s BMI result is above your plan goal, and the result is because of their lean muscle mass, then a secondary measure will allow them to pass the BMI category.
Even if a participant does have a higher BMI that can be attributed to their weight, Bravo can work with them, and if they wish their doctor, to establish an alternative goal to meet. At the end of the day it comes down to health improvement and Bravo strives to help participants achieve just that.
