This summer, Group Benefits LLC President, Tim Finnell – a certified healthcare reform specialist – conducted a seminar entitled “Employee Benefits and Health Care Reform: An Opportunity in Disguise.” This seminar offered a summary of ways employers can address the daunting reform mandates. From industry statistics, to best practices and private exchanges, a variety of topics and helpful applications were discussed.
One way to positively impact the mandates is through the implementation of company wellness programs. Bravo’s Vice President of Business Development, Joe Clark, had the opportunity to present alongside Finnell, and shared information on the impact of offering incentives to employees living healthy. These programs are truly assisting the employers’ efforts in keeping healthcare costs down.
Finnell emphasized the importance of taking action by declaring, “…The Department of Labor has a stated goal to audit all employer healthcare plans over the next five years and has hired more than 16,000 additional auditors to get the job done. Companies found in violation of the ACA face stiff penalties.”
