With medical expenses growing by 8-10% each year, Graco needed to control costs while maintaining its leadership position in a competitive market.
Chief Executive Officer Pat McHale's vision was to improve the overall health of Graco employees and dependents by creating an innovative program that would spark employee engagement, drive productivity, and control healthcare costs. In the first year, the wellness plan was introduced with lenient biometric goals alongside continuous awards for activity completion and health education. In the years following, biometric health goals were tightened to healthier ranges, dramatically reducing health risks and benefits costs.
