The 2018 Milliman Medical Index was released last week and showed that the cost of healthcare for a hypothetical family of four, covered by an employer-sponsored preferred provider organization (PPO) plan, has increased again. While the rate of increase (4.5%) is nearly the lowest in 18 years, it's still an increase—costing families an average of just over $100 per month more than last year.
